Selling antiques: which photographs and details to send
A well-documented enquiry helps us understand your object and discuss the next step. Start by WhatsApp or email and tell us the city where the piece is located.
Photographs to prepare
Send full views of the front and back, followed by close-ups. Photograph signatures, marks, labels and any damage without concealing it. Use clear images and do not digitally alter the object’s colours or condition.
Measurements, location and documents
Provide height, width and depth where relevant. Include the city and any existing documents, such as invoices, earlier descriptions or provenance information. Flag any uncertain date or attribution as uncertain.
Offering a collection
Include overview photographs and an inventory if available. General views help us understand the collection; front, back and detail photographs remain useful for individual pieces.
After the first contact
An initial photographic review is not a formal appraisal or a commitment to purchase. Where necessary, we arrange an examination in person or a visit. Arrangements, timing and any costs are agreed before proceeding.
